Skepticism about UX Design is hard to deal with when you are looking through the lens of a designer. Especially, when they are unaware of the impact UX can generate. It is our fundamental responsibility as designers to communicate efficiently with our audiences. After all, we attain many skills when performing the role of a UX designer. Being a skillful negotiator is just one of them.

An innate passion for solving problems, an inquisitive mind, a positive mindset for collaboration, adaptability, being void of judgment — just to name a few. The most important of the lot is capable of empathizing with others. It all boils down to being able to persuade the audience efficiently. Here are some of the approaches that can be considered:

1. Know Your Audience:

Familiarize yourself with your audience. Get an estimate of their levels of curiosity. You need to understand who your audience is. Also understanding their curiosity levels will give you a good idea to make an informed decision as to -
• What information to share
• And How?

2. Create Awareness:
Ascertain the audience’s exposure to designed products by asking questions. Make your audience aware of the presence of designed products in their environment.

3. Present Your Best Evidence:
Consider everyday life objects to describe UX design thought and effort behind the design of the product. Take an approach of experiential learning or learning by doing. Using examples of experiencing designed products on a daily basis, engage the audience in absorbing the knowledge that you will share with them.

4. Accept the Buzz of UX:
In this digital age, one cannot turn away from the benefits of UX Design.

Well-implemented UX Design can do wonders for your business and doubting UX or poorly executed UX Design can potentially harm your business conversion rate.

5. Learn about Future Trends:
User experience is everything now. You cannot deny the role UX Design will play in the future. We’re entering a world with infinite numbers of screens, a world that will be all — click, type, swipe and speak.
